Contact ID Code Generator
This page allows you to generate Contact ID codes for development and testing purposes.
For example, you can test using an SPA-3102 adaptor on our service without needing to connecting an alarm panel by sending messages from an analogue phone. It's important that Contact ID sequences are programmed into the phone's auto-dial feature, as dialling by hand is too slow.
Don't forget to select "For DTMF" for use with DTMF telephone based reporting systems. A lot of the time the codes will actually be the same (if they contain only digits), but you may see the checksum (final digit) as a hex digit, *, or #. * and # are easy to generate on a phone, but generating the hex digits can be more difficult. It may best to simply adjust the code elements to avoid any hex digits in the checksum.
To experiment using a phone with an SPA-3102, first configure your SPA-3102 as per the video tutorial, then connect your phone to the SPA-3102 and programme your quick-dial buttons with sequences generated using this page. For example, you might set one quick-dial button to send an Arm sequence, one for Disarm, and another for an Activation. To send a message, pick up the phone and dial 1000, wait for the handshake beeps, then press the programmed quick-dial key. Your message should be viewable on the Public Test Receiver page a few moments later.
